Just when I thought we were running out of new things to find!
This sea spider has been identified as Nymphon gracile, with no common name. They are present here on the north-east coast, but they are by no means common, which makes it even better
I still don't know how I managed to see it, being only 2cm across and hidden amongst some weeds on the underside of a rock
Here are the pictures, plus a video of the sea spider...
The good thing about sea spider is that they don't move like your typical dry land spiders, so they don't scurry across your hand and scare you! they move very slowly indeed, as the video illustrates.

We also found lots of Lesser Sand Eels, often in shoals of 20-30...

Oo Argh!

It became rather warm whilst we were rockpooling. it has clouded over again, but it was lovely just a short while ago...

Thanks for viewing! We also saw another small lobster (15cm) and a male lumpsucker (20cm) but no photos this time.
Friday afternoon has a very low tide, and that is our final rockpooling date before school placement begins for 4 weeks. Fingers crossed for a big find then!
