As that happens, more settled conditions develop in much of the UK, although there is uncertainty about how far north and west they extend. It's also possible that thundery conditions will develop quite quickly, leading to the potential for downpours. Forecast confidence is very low. Expected developments Week 1 An Atlantic based pattern persists until well into the week with active disturbances pushing across the UK. Towards the end of the period there are growing indications of high pressure building, and potentially very warm air heading northwards. The chart below is from the UK Met Office Global model. It shows pressure and precipitation at 00:00, Thursday 11th June. Week 2 High pressure is likely to have influence early on, and there is the possibility of a very warm air mass being in place. However, pressure probably starts dipping quite quickly and there are suggestions of a thundery period developing. The chart below shows the GEFS forecast mean surface level pressure on Wednesday 17th June. Key developments Changeable and rather cool conditions continue early in the period, and there is the potential for significant amounts of rain. Towards the end of the first week it could turn much warmer or event hot, at least for a time. The UKV chart shows forecast rain at 09:00, Thursday 11th June.
