Can someone explain this:
As of earlier today
Switzerland 4840 Cases, 0 deaths
UK 3269 Cases 144 deaths
Perhaps we can use our Trident system and nuke the virus?

As well as all recreational cricket being suspended until further notice the ECB has announced that there will be no professional cricket before the end of May. I expect that date to slip in much the same way that professional football's initial deadline has been slipped.
What's our figures Gav?

That cant be correct , great if it is , what are they doing the rest of the world aren't
This morning’s Swiss death total was 43 and it has since increased to 56. The first death was over 2 weeks ago.
Switzerland have 56 deaths from 5,407 cases
They've announced new deaths everyday since last Sunday
Well that shows then some websites are bollox. Still, 56 is still a lot lower than our figure, they have more cases than us I believe
No, they have tested more people than us. Either that, or they are taking Germany's approach of not counting deaths of those with serious underlying conditions in the COVID-19 total (instead giving the comorbidity as the cause)
We are 100% in agreement on this Q.

Some of the non UK data from today
The USA have added 4,332 cases so far today, with more states yet to come in. I think they'll be in at least second place in that list by the end of the day. Ultimately I think the USA will be top of the list of most cases, Trump can take some pride in that.
Norway on Thursday banned people from going to their country cabins to prevent the spread of coronavirus and lessen the burden on local public services.
Many Norwegians living in cities own cottages in the mountains or by the sea, often located many kilometres (miles) from the city in small municipalities with fewer resources.
“This is about the needs of the small municipalities that have lots of cabins. They do not have the capacity to deal with sick people beyond their permanent inhabitants,” Norwegian Health Minister Bent Hoie told a news conference.
“There will be no exception.”
People who disobey the order will be fined 15,000 Norwegian crowns, or 10 days in prison if they fail to pay.

Germany has a far greater ICU capability than we do.
Many of the early German cases are young people who went skiing (thus not so prone to death as older patients).
Then there is the comorbidity issue - there have been plenty of reports that if someone has a severe underlying condition in Germany, the case is registered against that instead of COVID-19.
Consider this - Germany is the outlier in all this, compared to every other single country with an epidemic.
I wonder if we're comparing apples and pears here? We don't know what testing regime they're using in Switzerland: if they're testing more widely, i.e. not just cases presenting with Covid-19 type symptoms, then you'd expect a lower apparent fatality rate.
The problem with any data and any attempted comparison is not knowing if the data is measuring the same things.
N.B. Figures from China and Iran are clearly total fiction!
So Germany's figures are not comparable with ours then?! They dont count serious underlying causes. That explains it for them and possibly Switzerland.
Governments need to agree common rules for counting cases and deaths and publish figures which can then be of use.

Are we beginning to see large corporates taking advantage of what is basically a business break. Monsoon and Starbucks already announced closing all shops. They will furlough their staff and get them paid by hmg.
As i typed that Uniglo announced all their stores are closing as well.
I thought this system was to stop companies going bust. Not to protect the profits already made.
