I didn't see today's briefing. However, IMO they lost credibility when after 7 weeks they suddenly decided the international comparison slide was not valid any longer. Odd that.

For some ‘light relief’ do watch Charlie Brooker’s screen wipe from last night ...comedy gold of the highest order.....and the added bonus of plenty of quotes from Boris about how well funded the NHS was and now we’ll equipped we all were to cope with the pandemic.. ....along with a great line about fund raising for the NHS...captain Tom might have raised £30plus million for the NHS but Boris was busy raising £350m a week by driving his big red bus around the Country!

A 9% drop in one day? Northern Ireland data is still a day behind so i think it is a 9% drop if you include Northern Ireland data for yesterday but not today. General trend is down though.

Have they given a reason for separating all the regions out? I found it a lot easier to follow when they were all on the same graph.

I notice that the slide showing tube usage running for almost two months at just 5% of normal levels has been missing over the last couple of days just as there is news that TfL has needed a bail-out.

Of course, whilst CV-19 was raging, other viruses were circulating too. Also, I believe Influenza B was also doing the rounds.

I imagine that Hancock was badly bullied at school. He has that look and whine about him. And he's a nasty little weasel.

I am not a great fan of Hancock and would prefer Hunt in the role, but cut the guy some slack - he has been under the most severe pressure imaginable for the past couple of months.

However, the government can be congratulated on the way the NHS was able to manage the crisis - at the start, there was panic about lack of capacity and shortages of ventilators, but those particular crises were avoided. Issues around PPE I grant you, but in the inquest, I would put insouciance about border controls at the top of the list of missed opportunities.

So the doctor's union backs the teacher unions - quelle surprise!

They should keep out  of it - there are still two weeks before the limited opening proposed by the government - plenty of time to see how things are progressing.

Yes, we know you would. And I agree that it was a disaster not to close our borders in January.

But you cannot get round the other scandals:

The abandoning of test, track and trace

The throwing of care home residents and staff to the wolves

The PPE debacle

The herd immunity fiasco

The track record of lying and obsfucation throughout
