I’ve seen this site posted several times

But I have a question - the x axis seems to be stuck on 11 May. How do I get up to date data? I understand there is a weeks lag, so surely it should be showing up to 14th May?

Edit: just noticed it is showing more recent data, but only labelled the 11th. Specsavers for me!

Looks like symptom reports starting to increase slightly.

When you heard stories coming out of France or somewhere abroad before it really hit here on care homes you were thinking this is a bomb waiting to go off.

NHS England has reported 187 new hospital deaths up from 166 yesterday

Last Thursday. NHS England reported 207 new hospital deaths

One family came all the way down from Manchester would you believe. Perhaps the prospect of 28c was better than 22c up there.

This has probably deemed an `accebtable` number of deaths and it is pretty clear the strategy again is herd immunity and there will be no more lockdowns unless the burden on the NHS looks like being to heavy.I fully expect the whole of the economy to be back open with social distancing in July. I bet you a pint you will be able to go to the pub again in 2 months time.

For Some pubs it would not be financially viable to open until all restrictions are lifted

Breaking: Downing Street has announced they have struck a deal to supply Roche antibody tests. They will be available on the NHS health and care workers first in line to receive them.

The numbers from the virus surveillance from the ONS are not good, they show ~8,700 new infections per day over the last 2 weeks (61,000 per week) in the general population (hospitals and care homes are excluded). Track and trace has little chance of succeeding with these kind of numbers and a further relaxation of the lockdown can easily cause an increase.

At 'present' 0.25% of our population is infected, most other European countries have significantly lower numbers.

Interesting to read about how Greece is trying to save some of its holiday season, Britain and Germany are their 2 biggest markets, but at the moment their scientific task force has vetoed allowing British tourists to enter Greece because they consider the UK as an unsafe country.

A bit of info here https://www.itv.com/news/2020-05-20/greece-to-allow-international-flights-to-tourist-destinations-from-july-1/

Yesterday, the total had gone up to about 275,000 (I forget the exact number) and today it's on 279,188 as you can see here:

I expect they'll update the graph in the next few days.

Surely it can only be a matter of time before Chris Patten is smoked out as a communist by the New Brexit Party? .
