Looking at all the unaffordable transfer fees currently being touted about is enough to disenchant a lot of football supporters when the dust settles tomorrow.....well that's my opinion anyway. Er no. Carroll + Suarez is an improvement on Torres, whose heart hasn't always been in it at Liverpool this season..

I don't think that even Pele at the height of his powers was worth £50m or £35m. Football has well and truly taken leave of its senses IMO.

Certainly Torres has had a cob on. Carroll is a huge and expensive mistake IMO. I honestly am genuinely staggered at the fee for this unproven lump. It takes a lot to amaze me as far as football and money is concerned nowadays, but this has stunned me. What a shocking waste of money.

Suarez is a good signing, but it's nullified by the £35m thrown away on Carroll as far as I'm concerned. Panic buying personified. I bet if you asked King Cunny his honest opinion he would tell you signing Carroll for that price wasn't exactly his dream move

This transfer window really shows the fantasy world the top level clubs in this country live in. I really do worry for the future of football in this country when the likes of 35 million exchanges hands for an inexperienced top level player. I was hoping that in the current economic climate football might have a reality check, but instead it just goes more insane than ever tonight.

I will be back happily watching my local non league team this coming weekend, that is the football I enjoy, the world of Liverpool, Arsenal, Chelsea, Man City and Man United means nothing to me, it is not the game I grew up loving as a youngster.
