Sell Torres, a proven international striker, bring in Carroll, the 5th best striker in the Championship last season. That's an improvement?

Suarez is a good signing, but it's nullified by the £35m thrown away on Carroll as far as I'm concerned. Panic buying personified. I bet if you asked King Cunny his honest opinion he would tell you signing Carroll for that price wasn't exactly his dream move

If I had to stick my neck out I'd say Man City will falter and Spurs will cling onto a top 4 spot again. Not sure there's a lot to moan about there given they were facing relegation not so long ago?

You may have missed the stat I posted earlier in the thread, but I will re-iterate; our strikeforce, comprising Defoe, Pav and The Lampost have scored a combined 6 goals between them in the PL this season. Of these, Pav has 5. That is utterly abysmal for a top four side.
We are only where we are because of Bale and VDV. Bale is currently out and VDV is having a dip in form. It looks ominous.

Agree entirely about your strikeforce, although has Defoe ever been a great striker? I'm always amazed at how when he has a little run of something like 4 goals in 6 games he's heralded as the next great England hope. In fact there's the problem. England's international side is so utterly devoid of centre forward talent, everytime one of them show glimpses of ability it is grasped like Gary Glitter grasping a....
I'm not convinced Bale is Spurs long term answer either. Another periodical performer, but it's clearly hindering things with him being out.
Does it look ominous? What is ominous for Spurs? Relegation? That's not going to happen this season, so what is ominous in your opinion?
