Torres could make his Chelsea debut against Liverpool this Sunday.

That should be very interesting.

Until Torres' comments today/last night I could just about forgive him for stitching Liverpool up at the 11th hour of the transfer window. He's ambitious, wants medals, Liverpool today isn't the club he joined, etc (and a £65k a week  pay rise can't have done much to put him off...).

However. However.... his comments about wanting to play at a top club have totally pee'd me and every other Liverpool fan off. Yes, we've had the heated debate on here about whether Liverpool are or aren't a big club and we'll always disagree, but it all depends on the criteria you use. What is in no doubt is that they have a million times more history and global prestige than Chelsea, who are only where they are due to a sugar-daddy putting them in a false financial position. They're a plastic club, a fake with no soul.

Back to Torres. To manufacture an exit from a club that's nurtured you, one whose fans have literally idolised you, one which has been through some pretty crappy times of late - and then to deliver a massive 'w*nker' hand signal to that club and those fans by saying what he did is downright insulting and disrespectful.

Even worse, he's not even had the nuts to issue a statement to thank Liverpool and say bye to the fans.

I thought Torres had some level of class as a man. How wrong was I?

From other fans I've spoken with and read the comments from, this is generally the majority view in Liverpool

My point, however, was that not only has he failed to issue a statement thanking Liverpool and the fans for the support he's had, he's made a really pithy disparaging dig at the club and portraying them as inferior to Chelsea.

That is what's got so many Liverpool backs up.

I'm sure you can understand that.

You know my views on Liverpool as a club. One thing we will agree on is Chelsea are not a big club. They are an average sized club in a false position due to a wealthy benefactor. I went to Stamford Bridge twice last season on corporate dos and was distinctly underwhelmed both times

Shame the Kop has seen a fully fit Torres over the last season or 2 !! He always managed to Vidic a real hard game who IMO is one of the very top defenders in the world.. on the other hand Vidic has always had Drogba in his pocket

Chelsea 2-1 up away at Sunderland

Man U 1 up at home to Villa

Arsenal 1 down to Everton at home, Le Tiss reckons the linesman has had a shocker Saha at least 2 or 3 yards offside.

Out for certain: King, Bale, Dawson, Huddlestone, Kaboul..... Modric too apparently, after reported (not confirmed) appendix op today.

Palacios injured for last game, so not sure about him. VDV rumoured not to be fit either.

Big results last night for Man U, Chelski and Arsenal who all had tricky games. Chelsea also seem to be getting some momentum going again..is it too late ?

From an Arsenal POV I have to hope Man U get beat when they visit the Emirates and hope Chelski take 4 pts from them

FWIW I think that at the Emirates it will probably be a draw and the Cheslea/ Man U fixtures will yield 4 pts to Man U and 1 to Chelsea........we'll see though
