Actually, Chilton was pretty much there at 12BST with still an hour potentially to increase but there seems to have been a drop about that time. Wonder what it was.

UV7 forecast in Bridport tomorrow.

6s as far as Cumbria and I O Man.

Edit: 7s for other parts of SW Dorset, Sussex and IOW.

UV index here is just moderate. Just planted out 6 different   tomato plants

There are also 8s down at the far SW of Cornwall at the same time and there are more 8s in the far south on Monday.

8 was forecast for the south today but Reading & Weybourne only topped 6, with Chilton getting a 7.

3 days of 8 forecast here, getting as far N as Yorkshire, with 7 up to St Andrews on Tuesday. Just shy of 7 in Reading yesterday.

Yesterday 7.7 in Reading, 8.1 in Chilton.

Reading and Chilton both grabbed a 9.0 yesterday!

Should be more 9s today - the MetO website has finally churned one out. (It's in Helston.)

Lines up well; Camborne just short of a 9, others in the 8s (Reading just squeezed an 😎. Feels intense though, but I suspect that's heat rather than UV- 24.7C so far today here but more humid.

9.0 in Chilton, 8.0 in Reading

Since last post Chilton managed a 9.0 on 15th then 8.5,7.9. Then there were 4 cloudy days with only 1.8 on 18th before things started to improve, with 8.1 yesterday.

Lots of 8s forecast over the next few days, as far N as Bridlington at one point. 

9 forecast for Jersey tomorrow and Friday.

Since last post Chilton's top was 8.5 on 3rd, with 8s today and on 1st.

Seven 7s also and nothing <5 since 29/6 so despite all the cloud & rain, it hasn't been too dull.

Reading managed 7.6 yesterday. No data from chilton since 15th.

I notice that from the 14th July Leeds had some super data for a bunch of days:

A reminder of how small these islands are, that even that difference latitudinally does make much difference to UV if the conditions are right.
