Oh wait, there have been rumours our esteemed manager may bid for him in the summer.

Well, I say 'play'. That may be being a tad generous.

As for LB, I hope Harry - unless he's doing porridge - will make a bid for Taiwo. That looks far more likely to me.

If we don't get a decent couple of strikers in the summer your lot will finish above us next season certainly. If on the other hand, we do get some decent strikers I have absolutely no worries at all.

On balance, I still think spurs are more easy on the eye than us even when we play well.

I know Harry can be stupid at times but he isn't stupid enough to do a long rumoured Carrick + cash deal for Modric. If he did, he would be lynched and I would be at the head of the queue.

Did Torres score yet?

I would much rather he was in Chelsea's team. He is a class player going through a sticky patch but as they say "Form is temporary, class is permanent."

Anyhow, remember how long it took Drogba to settle in?  As I recall it took a season - OK partly that was adjusting to the Premier League but not only.

I'm sure Torres will regain his form, but this isn't just some new-club blip. He's looked a shadow of his former self for about 18 months now - even for Spain he's not just been struggling - at the last World Cup he looked Wayne Rooney-terrible.

Have the injuries took a physical toll? Or perhaps a mental one?

Rooney has started to pick up his form over the last few weeks, tho some way off his best.

Joe Cole being linked with a 5miliion move to Spurs...hopefully as replacement for Modric

I must admit that I just don't fancy Pieenar, probably can't spell his name right either!!

Bale seemed to be feeling his way back last week but I was dizzy by the end trying to keep up with the constant wing switching with Lennon.  Shame Krancjar didn't get a sniff at the end as he appears to know how to hit the target!!

'Arry talks a good talk, but ultimately it counts for little as Levy controls the purse strings.

The fact that Bale and Modric appear to want to stay at Spurs also counts for relatively little. It's always good business practice to keep giving players extended contract deals as it will bump up their prices in the transfer market.

As you mention, Levy controls the club and the finances and if someone comes in with any kind of over the top offer for either then they would leave.

The Suarez issue aside, which continues to boil my pee, Spurs fans seem to conveniently forget that so on the fringes of the first team squad was Bale at one point that Notts Forest were tempted to make a cheeky bid.

Bale got an extended run in the side because of BAE's injury. That's not strategic thinking but plain blind luck, no more, no less.

Let us also not forget that Modric was bought BEFORE 'Arry was appointed and that VDV only came to WHL because Levy 'offered' him to Redknapp. All in all 'Arry has been a very very lucky boy.

Only teasing there. I like Tottenham, always have...........of all the London sides they are my favourite (probably the Waddle/Hoddle era did it for me)....but my fondness has had to be put on the back burner until 'Arry departs.

I love reading the papers on April Fools Day and picking out the silly stories. A couple of crackers in The Sun today: Man Utd to spend £25m on Ashley Young, and Gareth Bale wants to be up there with Messi. Great stuff 😂 😂 😂

Man Utd currently 2-0 down at West Ham.

Probably won't stay that way though as they have pulled back a 2 goal defecit a few times this season.

Fantastic result for Man U today and good to see Rooney grab a hatrick !! Man U always make it hard for themselves but they are probably the only team in the premiership that you would put money on in such a situation.

Chelsea's hopes hopes have all but vanished now and well if the Gunners dont take 3pts today then there hopes are also very slim.

Scousers erratic form continues as they lose at West Brom... great result for the midlands team and fantastic result for Roy who must have relished this win.

Another dreadful performance from our failures strikers today. Poor effort, poor execution. One of the few players to shine..... AGAIN.....was Sandro. This boy is turning out to being a bargain for us.

The only saving grace today was that the Bindippers lost. But I'm still more worried now about hanging on to fifth place, let alone going for fourth.

Redknapp was clueless, tactically, playing a left sided VDV out on the right wing, not playing a recognised left winger, keeping Defoe on for far too long and not putting Niko on until 5 mins before the end (what an insult that was).

I see that N'Zonzi has just been red-carded which will make it a tad more difficult for Blackburn in the closing stages of their game against Arsenal at the Emirates!
