Good news: they seem to have fixed Leconfield. It's now in line with other local sites.

If it stays clear it feels like we should be able to squeeze a 33C out, but Arome is having none of it and that's usually pinpoint accurate. 32C only. Arome does have 33C widely across London tomorrow whereas other models take things a little cooler. Depends on cloud I think (Arome has quite a lot of blue sky).

Year to date peak to beat = 32.7C.

Tonight looks very warm in places, particularly where it is  due to be cloudy. Met Office automated shows min of 21c for Leeds. Perhaps some station records could be broken?

The temperature here in Edinburgh at 11am BST (10:00 UTC) this morning was now up to around 23°C which is a whole 2°C hotter than what it was at this time yesterday when we had our hottest day of the year so far.

Now 29C in Cambridge, 28C widely across Midlands and East Anglia.

Already 37C in Andalucia at 12.30pm local time (but Spain is well West so should really be on BST - "midday" is essentially around 2.30pm there).

Edinburgh Airport as at 11:20am BST (10:20 UTC) this morning was at 24°C and is therefore, the hottest place here in Edinburgh as I write.

As at 1pm BST (12:00 UTC) this afternoon, the temperature here in Edinburgh was 24.8°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank 25°C at Edinburgh Airport and 25.9°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

That already makes today our second hottest day of this year so, and these temperatures only need to go up by another 1°C or so in order to beat those highest temperatures of the year so far which were only set during yesterday.
