No, it just niggles me it takes so many hottest day titles. So many compared to any other station, even surrounding ones
Just to clarify. Always felt there’s an influence that leads to this. It’s unnatural.

35.6 here. I wonder if we can make 36 before the cooldown starts. It can't be too far away...

Down to +21.5c here in Okehampton from a low of 25.1c last night! STarted to rain! - all heading your way! a 4.0c drop in temperature since 0800am this morning. Nice and fresher but humid.
Hope somewhere can reach the magical milestone of +40c before the breakdown occurs later this evening, there is still at least 4.5-5hrs of warming left, but it depends on cloud cover as well because as we all know cloud cover can supress temperatures - yesterday we reach +34c here in Okehampton but the cloud prevented it from rising further, however we saw quite a lot of Alto-cumulus casterallanus clouds.- We all know what this means along with flying ants! - So watch out!
Nottingham Watnall reported 36.3c at midday. That beats yesterday’s 36.2c record, which beat the July 2019 record of 36.1c.
gap in obs in SE Scotland mean we don't know how close Scotland is to an all-time record. Kielder Castle (a few miles from the border) is at 30.9C, i believe that is the first >30C reading there, and Chillingham Barns (quite a way north in Northumberland, maybe 10 miles from the Scottish border) is at 31.8C.
38c here now.
Baking hot outside and that's in the shade!!!
34.2c here. It just keeps on rising.
38c looks achievable.

I've never really fully trusted data from airports either. They nearly always record higher temps than other nearby stations.
39.1C in Charlwood.
Think 40C is pretty much guaranteed with another 3 hours to go.
It looks like a very slight cooldown has just got underway across Somerset. Continued records are up for grabs until 5pm across the east.

Edit: 38.9c, hottest ever UK day here in Cambridgeshire.
Seem that Yorkshire not leading the heat so far. I notice all my stuff inside the house even radiators are very warm, 33-35C inside and 38C outside.

Still early days for that part of the world, where the temperatures could well continue to rise after they have plateaued elsewhere. East Midlands airport is now 37C and Nottingham is not far behind
