Manchester airport now also 38C.

Whole swathes of the country obliterating 100F.

I hope the cold front edging in maintains the rain, I’d love to go and dance around in it when it arrives!

I understand commercial growers like to keep temperatures between 20 and 25c for tomatoes. Surely impossible in this heat, without active cooling.

We're all looking in the wrong place for the UK record, surely it's going to be Jiries house. Get the oven and hairdryer on Jiries and its a sure thing!

Of the above Coningsby could be a good candidate for 40c/new Record.

Sheffield and Ryhill 38.4c are pretty special too.

40.1C finally and now 39.7.  Very strong hot winds which is great to keep clouds off. Time to see Yorkshire into the game now?

Just seen the huge smoke plume on our way home, from the "wild" fire that's started near the Bridge Crossing here in Dartford. Going for a walk soon to see if we can see more.

Now 34°C here in Hawick which definitely would beat the Scottish record if that was to be officially confirmed, and it would a real shame if that was scuppered for no reason other than the sheer lack of official stations in this part of the world.

The north of Edinburgh, usually always missing out on snow events which occur not just within the rest of Scotland or the UK, but also within the rest of Edinburgh.
