My main point is that people are entitled to hold different beliefs. I am not commenting regarding GW being a fact or fiction. What I am saying is that people can hold a different opinion to what is regarded as the consensus, and should NOT be belittled for doing so. I'm sick and tired of internet people cancelling debate that does not conform to their own belief, or labelling those who disagree as deniers or idiots. 


I say again, I am personally not making any claim either for or against GW. I am merely lauding the right of an individual to have an opinion. It is up to the community to then discuss and debate opinions. Closing down said debate does nothing to further anyone's understanding. 


I'll say no more on the matter.

GFS has been superb on this spell. Not Arome's finest hour though.

GFS has 40C for Leysdown right now. It was a degree under yesterday (37 vs 36 in reality), but today was spot on (38) - until that sea breeze set in. It's now 29C, which is what was forecast by the Met Office forecast. The Met Office then has it warming back up to 35C in an hour and 20 minutes - we'll see!


(Here in Sittingbourne it's been near enough 40C. Hotter than when I was in Vegas, with a discomfiting "slightly hard to breathe" feeling going across the playground at work. The car said 41 as I made the short journey to the hotel down the road. It was making a racket, too, all sorts of whirring noises once I turned off the ignition!)

To then exceed 100F 7 years later is astonished.

Below 40 for the first time in a few hours. Simply remarkable. I had to take a few pictures to document the day. It could be a once in a lifetime event. I feel that's it for today record wise - an astonishing day in all respects, especially given the totally clear blue skies!

We had a beautiful little hot shower Rob about half an hour ago when the temp had already dropped from 34 to 32 under growing cloud. I could smell the dust first- reminded me of W Africa at the end of the dry season it was so strong. There's a name for it- petra something. A few distant rumbles, now it's cleared & the sun is back but it's damp now- smells and feels like a horticultural greenhouse.
