Surprised to see the CET so high , it doesn't feel anywhere near the level of 2007 or 2011 yet  statistically it's clearly not far off already hitting the levels for the whole month on those occasions . In a month which is notorious for getting warmer later and almost always seems to deliver a widespread 22-25c plus period in second half these days
I guess we are conditioned to expect April to be warm these days . Very few cool ones since the 1980s and 2021 therefore stood out like a sore thumb

Are the anomalies correct for April? It is implying that the 81-00 mean is lower than the 61-90 mean.

Slightly down as expected and today will probably take it down another notch.  Then it looks like it’ll be back on a steady rise until the weekend.

Looking like a cool spell for a week or so from the 14th. CET could easily dip below 10c by 21st.

Interesting models at the moment. There's an off chance that it could be one of those instances where the first half of April is warmer than the second half. Considering it's usually the most rapidly warming month of the year, it's quite unusual to get.

Yes, I was thinking the month could well reverse its usual trend and get colder instead of warmer.   Days like today make me want to put tender plants out early but I know better than to trust the weather.  A dry spell is what we need more than anything, regardless of temperature. 👍
