Surprised to see the CET so high , it doesn't feel anywhere near the level of 2007 or 2011 yet  statistically it's clearly not far off already hitting the levels for the whole month on those occasions . In a month which is notorious for getting warmer later and almost always seems to deliver a widespread 22-25c plus period in second half these days 
I guess we are conditioned to expect April to be warm these days . Very few cool ones since the 1980s and 2021 therefore stood out like a sore thumb

Well, we are very early into the month, so it could change.  But the past few days of mild weather has made all the difference and may not reflect the month as a whole.

It would take a pretty potent cold spell later in the month to drive the figure down to my prediction of 9.52C and nobody surely would want that. After coming within a whisker of winning in January my predictions have gone down the pan and this month looks to be no exception.

Interesting models at the moment. There's an off chance that it could be one of those instances where the first half of April is warmer than the second half. Considering it's usually the most rapidly warming month of the year, it's quite unusual to get.
