Like a July morning here - sunny with milky high cloud, muggy, calm.

14.4 (and rising quickly), 13.6 dewpoint. Last night's low was 9.4, only a couple of hours ago!

Here in Edinburgh, this morning has started off on a mostly cloudy and murky note but with some hazy sunshine at times.

Currently around 12°C here in Edinburgh, but with a much more humid and muggy feel.

21 C at 10 am with hazy sunshine, it did the same thing this time yesterday with lead to a peak of 22.8 C at 2.30 pm.

Feels like I'm still winding down after being able to take photos of the aurora on my smartphone the other night (the battery on my trusty D7000 was dead and being a last second thing I had to improvise) . . .

Mostly sunny again in Edinburgh. 17 C at 10am, it was 21 C this time yesterday. We have a light NE wind off the sea today so will be lucky to hit 20 C today inland.

There is some medium level instability from the south already, I suspect thundery showers will break out over the Pentlands by mid afternoon.

A comfortable, no enjoyable, 22.9C under more or less blue skies and light winds from the ESE. I'm sure I saw some AC on the way to the supermarket just now. The garden loves it, with basil romping away.

A great picture Ian. I had a look last night and nothing showing. 👍

20 C here at noon. Mostly sunny but cumulus and altocumulus drifting north, quite hazy.

I see that my nearest weather station, Swanston recorded 24.6 C yesterday, so my 25 C in the garden was fairly accurate!

That warning is mostly in force in the west of the country and Edinburgh wasn't originally included within that warning area, but we have come into it as of this morning's updates on that.

Whether that actually comes off or not though is a completely matter but today's sunshine is more sporadic and much hazier in nature with much more of a humid feel to things.

It's also not quite as warm as the last couple of days at around 19°C here in Edinburgh (at this time yesterday, we were already at around 21°C). Meanwhile, it's only around 17°C at Edinburgh Airport as I write, and just a measly 15°C at the botanic gardens in Edinburgh.

Sunny here, with just a very light puff of wind from the NE. 18.9, dew 15.2, the high so far being 19.7.

It's the dewpoint that does it, of course. I've been in 37C in Vegas and found it fine, indeed in the wind it even felt slightly cool, but this mugginess means I just sweat instead. 15C dewpoints used to be common enough in high summer back in the day (i.e. mid July to mid August), but having them in mid May is just great - not.

The temperature at Swanston in the south of Edinburgh is now up to around 21°C as I write but other than that, the temperatures are now refusing to rise here due to a pesky breeze from off the North Sea.😡

In fact, the temperatures have even dropped back in the last hour or so to around 18°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank, 16°C at the airport and only 14°C at the botanic gardens.🤢

A freshening breeze off the Channel brings in some cooler temps. Now 20C IMBY and anyone on the local beaches will perhaps find it a tad chillier than they might have expected.

Temperature rose very quickly, currently 25c sunny and muggy, which I’m finding is a bit beyond comfortable. We’re on the edge of a thunderstorm warning but it looks like it’ll stick West of the Pennines and miss us. Pity because the air could do with freshening.
