A very pleasant afternoon at 22C, light N/NW-ly wind, and feeling warmer when the sun came out - which was most of the time despite forecasts of cloud from various sources

A very pleasant day - long sunny spells, a breeze from the north, and most importantly not hot! Super weather for drying clothes on the line, or working in the garden.

It's presently 14.7, dew 8.9. Last night's low was 8.3 and yesterday's high was 3C below normal, at 16.7.

Last night, the temperature at Edinburgh Gogarbank dropped all the way down to a rather chilly 4.8°C and we even came very close to getting a ground frost with that, which is something which we didn't even manage to get during the entire month of May.

In the end, it didn't quite get cold enough for that but it was an exceptionally cold night for this time of year, and our coldest night so far of this complete non-event which is known as this so-called "summer".

That in turn has been followed by a mostly cloudy morning with only a few patches of blue sky around and only the odd brief sunny interval.

Meanwhile, the temperature here in Edinburgh has recovered to around 12°C but even that isn't even the least bit warm for this time of year.😡

After a fair morning with some sunny breaks and partial cloud, it lead to a peak of 18.9 C at 2.10 pm, but then an isolated heavy shower (1.8 mm in just a few minutes) has caused temperatures to plummet down to 12.7 C currently (3.30 pm). That's poor for mid-June.

Local Met station reporting a 1.4c at 5am with a grass temp of -2.4c, while here it is 3.1c (suburban garden). Impressive for what is now mid-June but doubt it'll reach the 2.6c which was achieved on June 15th 2019 in my own sadly too short records.

Yesterday's high was 17.1, two days in a row where it was 3C below average! That's impressive, as you have to go back to January to find two more days in a row that were 3C or more below average. The exceptionally warm May, of course, recorded several runs of 3C or more above average days.

There was 0.8mm of rain yesterday evening.

Last night was another cool night for the time of year, though not as cold as other recent nights with an overnight minimum temperature of 8.3°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

Today was forecast to be the best day of this week and yet, the day has started off on a cloudy cloud and the temperatures are already refusing to rise.🤢

At the moment, the temperature is around 9°C here in Edinburgh which is no higher than it was at midnight.😡

8C earlier with light airs off the Channel. Now 10C and clouding over from the west with weak sunshine to the east.
If it rains as forecast today, it will be the first measureable rain this meteorological summer for here.

Sunny, calm and a wonderful fresh feeling to things, most unusual for summer. There's a heavy dew on the grass, and it's 8.7, dew 7.6, after an overnight low of just 5.9 - the lowest since early May. I suspect I won't see a low like that again until mid-Autumn at the earliest!

Yesterday's high was 16.3, a good 4C below average.

Here in Edinburgh, last night was incredibly cold for this time of the year with the temperature dropping down to just 3.0°C at Edinburgh Gogarbank.

As I might have said a few days ago on here, we didn't get even a single ground frost during the entire month of May and even during last winter and the following spring, any kind of frost was always very hard to come by.

Yet in spite of all of that, a ground frost was recorded here during last night in what is supposed to be our "summer" which is just absolutely ridiculous!!🤢😡

In addition to that, last night was also our coldest night so far of that ongoing complete non-event which is our so-called "summer".

Having said that though, this is the time of year for observing noctilucent clouds and I'm surprised that I haven't even seen any mention of that on this forum so far during this year but when I looked out in the early hours of this morning at around 1am,there were some very impressive noctilucent clouds to my north where due to twilight lasting all night at this time of year, the sky was still very bright despite it being as dark as it gets all night at this time of year (that makes it all the more remarkable that it was still such a cold night anyway in spite of that).

Meanwhile, this morning has started off on a fairly bright note with some sunshine although it's now already in the process of clouding over with a temperature of around 9°C here in Edinburgh.

Could have done with a wind yellow warning here in Cornwall (cubert) it’s been pretty hellish for the last few hours, me and the wife are ok in our caravan but tents have been flattened as they were unaware the wind was going to be so strong. Warmer feel today, around 15 degrees, wind strong to very strong gusts and plenty of rainy wet stuff.

Rain just about to start here according to the radar and the fresh SE wind making it feel unpleasant.
But it feels slightly milder than recently at 15C.
Not good for anyone in a tent with the winds as you say.
