I'm rather baffled about the Chavs. I didn't see the team sheet last night, but the Beeb was reporting that DiMatteo made six changes, presumably in part to rest players ahead of the Cup Final.
Now DiMatteo may be going for a 'sh*t or bust' strategy by going for trophies. Which is fair enough, if we are to assume the Russian crook won't be employing him next season.
Which begs the question - given the Russian crook's well known obsession with winning the Champions League - why didn't he pass a message down the food chain to DiMatteo to play the strongest team possible (and continue the drive for fourth place) just in case the Chavs don't beat Bayern.
Given the choice of finishing fourth or winning the Cup I'd have thought the Russian crook would go for the former.
Had the Chavs beaten the Bar Codes last night the Bar Codes would probably be out of the running for fourth - I really don't see them getting 6 points out of Shiteh and Everton. Which would leave the Chavs to chase down Spurs on the expectation Spurs will manage to screw things up in their final two games.
Most odd.
