Just had about 5mm in a very short space of time, several flashes and rumbles.
Temperature dropped by 3C from a rather ridiculous 14C

Earlier this evening, we also had a brief but very heavy spell of rain with one big crash of thunder.

Impressive storm over Manchester earlier. It went dark as night and the winds picked up and some good flashes of lightning. Albiet was slightly on the edge of the main band and it soon passed over but the cloud formations were amazing.

Just a few distant rumbles here during the late afternoon; the low angle sunshine enhanced those, already impressive, cloudscapes

Woken up around 7:15am by some absolutely torrential rain!! The noise of the rain hammering down on the house and outside was impressive. Also some thunder & lightning mixed in, though the thunder couldn't be heard until the rain let up a little, must have been one strike very close by as there was a flash bang just after 7:20am.

Seems very feasible given the geography of the air over the UK at the moment. Some very deep convection with small but intense cells likely to splatter the UK today from time to time, especially towards Central and Southern areas.

Intense and gusty showers this morning, albeit brief in nautre. Hail at one point. No thunder or lightning though. Feeling warm and muggy, especially when the sun pops through between the showers.

Booming thunder can be heard. Looking very dark to my West but the sky is still blue in the other direction.

Some interesting weather down towards southsea fair ground area. I work near by and our early morning clearner said there was a storm around 7am and at one point all the doors and windows started to rattle badly - this only lasted about a minute or so. They went out back to find all the trollies out side had toppled over... these things weigh in over 60kg. Could have been a downburst or tornado.
