The bumble bee I saw in mid December made another appearance today whilst I was out in the garden. Says it all really.

For me, it's been pretty much the same as last year.  Wind, rain and just the odd frost but thankfully we've escaped any damaging winds and flooding here.  Last year, the winter weather started in January and carried on through to April, so I'm not resting on my laurels yet.

Bees are of course the most useful insects we have, especially with springtime elections - without them, we wouldn't have pollen stations all over the country

Now there's a prospect of quiet (but not likely to be especially cold and snowy) weather on the cards, I'm finding myself a bit disappointed.


I'm curious as to what would happen if we continued to have these successive storms throughout the whole of winter.
