Some pictures I took above Torquay Harbour. It was nice to see roses in January! It was a bit stormy too, lots of rainbows and anvils, a few miles away Kingsbridge reported a tornado, so a bit of a mixed bag morning!
Sunshine & Showers!
Flowers & Buds.
A January Rose.
Yellow Flower (Don't know what kind)
Harbour Sunbeams.
Coming back to life now!
Rainbow at Torre Abbey. The white building is the Premier Inn formerly the Belgrave hotel.
Show's what a mild winter it's been so far. Your yellow flower is a marigold!
Like your sunbeams best. Good images...
Marigold thank you! I see them growing around my neighbourhood everywhere but never actually knew what they were.
Thanks ART! It was a stormy morning. I think this is an updraft or thats what I always think it is when I see the cloud lowering like this.
Daffodils are out now. Saw these in town today.
Every year I'm astonished by these early daffodils in the south.Mind we have some roses hanging on here.Even my super early daffodil clump is hardly above ground yet.
Hi Four, you take great pictures, much better than mine. Why did you change your avatar?
The daffs come out earlier on the south coast like most things. I remember when I was at school in Yorkshire and a teacher telling us how spring starts weeks earlier in the Scilly Isles. But that place is even more special than here on the mainland.
Its always funny when you think about it when (especially on this website) people look for those really high temperatures in summer and snow in winter, I think we often forget we live on an island!
I noticed the daffs are out here the same. There are lots of berries so I wonder have the creatures no need to hoard.
I imagine they will be popping up all over the place with this kind of mildness. Good thinking with the berries, I've noticed here too that there's tons and tons of them everywhere and I'm sick of treading in them and cleaning them off my shoes. There's so much growing and starting to get going again maybe it makes up a little bit for dissapointed cold weather fans to see it all.
