I've seen a report of hail recently from Wisbech
A thunderstorm literally exploded into life here a short time ago, with some cracking CGs and massive raindrops which felt like they each contained about half-a-pint when they hit me (as I was out in the fields trying to photograph an approaching line of "potential" storm clouds at the time...).
The storms have rumbled off to the south now.
'twas another damp squid here ; plenty of rain but only a few rumbles. Interestingly, I took this photo at 7am this morning. The clouds were very strange looking and was wondering if they indicated stormy activity ?
Been having a right Downpour for the last half an hour, gutters overflowing etc. Will see how much rain has fallen when its finished.
15 mm
Can the the severe thunderstorm over West Yorkshire from here on the other side of the Pennines, big towering cumulonimbus to my E/NE.
Rumbles of thunder in the distance; radar looks nearly interesting
Today's storms in Nottinghamshire covered a small area and were very localised because I didn't get anything at all around 1pm when the other reports came in from Nottingham and Newark.
However we had a very short but very active thunder storm at 2.45pm with torrential rain, thunder and lightning. The sun was shining again by 3pm as the cell moved West.

So localised though. Must have been 10 miles from here when it blew up, but largely clear skies in this location.

I was in London last night and looking out to the west walking over the river to Waterloo I thought I saw some flashes of distant lightning about 10.15pm. Any activity around that time?
