A fair chance of some isolated rogue storms across the C South and into the SW Weds afternoon/evening in response to local high diurnal heating and sea-breeze CVZ here.

Risk increases Thursday.

Just having the most epic thunderstorm with violent rain and squalls here in Crediton (10 miles NW of Exeter). The sky has been darkening since 1600 BST with frequent rumbles. Then at 1700 there were large spots followed by an increasing intensity to violent by 1705. As I write it is still belting down and thundering. Check out the rainfall radar for Devon from 1545BST to now!!!! From nothing to a sharp line of vicious showers in little over an hour.

Thundering here now

And meanwhile, another thing to put you off flying. I understand Barcelona airport is currently closed due to poor weather

Brute of a storm.  Hail max rr/hr 281.0mm may have been skewed by the hail.  21.8mm rain in 15 minutes.  I pity the people in traffic on the M25

temp drop of 9.1c in last hour.

Well the hail core hit, 1/4" or bigger hail, setting off car alarms, wind whipping around all over the place.

Scooter
25 July 2014 13:27:35

Second one now rolling in.
