The previous Icelandic event occured in the run up to the 2010 election....

But it does look as if the Bardabunga  event is over. A silent fart in the end, rather than the explosive diarrohea some were expecting

For clarification the earthquake and subsidence activity at Bárðarbunga is continuing to an extent even if the Holuhraun rifting eruption has stopped. The"Bárðarbunga event" may very well not be over and the coming days, weeks or months will tell.
