Indeed, have spotted the potential earlier on - unfortunately. Did have the effect of spoiling my day.

Again, just what IS it with night time and stormy winds for around here anyway.

Meto have now issued an Amber for our friends in the North ..I would imagine the Warnings will light up like a Christmas Tree as we progress

Could really do without losing a fence again, the one on the left side is on it's last legs as it is and although it's not ours to worry about the neighbours took forever to sort out the last one....... and there big Wolf looking dog often looks peckish

..I wonder how the old wind chill factor will feel?

It's looking as though it could be quite rough for some on exposed coasts. I fear this could be slightly upgraded nearer the time too.

Ferries all being cancelled up here for Wednesday - long trips to Aberdeen and the short hop to Scrabster, plus many of the inter-island ferries. It's looking set for a good old blow over the next 48 hours.

Given the wind direction I wonder if gas pollution from the fissure eruption in Iceland will affect northern Scotland

Snow risk has reduced to 50% for here tomorrow night, but gone up to 70% early Friday. Wouldn't be surprised to see this downgrade again and like yesterday snow cover restricted to ground 300m plus where most people don't live.

The Shipping Forecasts are quite impressive, certainly wouldn't want to be out in a Violent Storm Force 11 !!
