Another downgrade with the snow. Looks like even Kinder Scout will only get the lightest of coverings.

An interesting day in Edinburgh. Frequent snow showers as a streamer set up from the WNW. Snow is lying this evening above 70m in the city and there has even been slush at times to sea level. The slush and snow has now begun to sparkle and freeze with small flakes in the air as CuNimbs seem to be decaying upwind. We might get a light covering overnight. It's been a good spell so far with 4 days of falling snow, large hail, thunder and lightning and dramatic squalls one after the other

Is that front further north than predicted? Its actually now about 20 miles away. It was supposed to stop at the border.

Snow forecast for my area tonight albeit a rain to snow event, but we're down for 2-5cm according to the warnings so I expect zilch now as often is the case when we're allegedly due some of the white stuff.

Frequent snow showers this morning left several brief coverings but the main shower activity was in Southern Scotland and I imagine the Moffat area did very well.

Not hopeful of snow tonight even if the band reaches this far north, the temperature rose steadily this afternoon to reach 3.7c now, not really snow fall potential.

Anyway looking to my south temps have dropped to 1c so it is snowing inland at least. Hopefully it comes here, I do think it will snow but whether it lasts or lies is another question.

I love the way urban edinburgh can have different microclimates, going all the way from the sea (well, firth) to the bottom of the pentlands at 600ft or so (and air rising/falling over the pentlands is often what causes the microclimates at my end of town)

ok so it is still drizzling but the temp has dropped to 2.5c. It says the glenshane pass has moderate snow and surface temp of -0.7c, I am watching the temps and places are dropping fast. It is taking forever to even rain here, I think its struggling to get this far north.

This is to my south

looked at radar and isn't it typical the rain has fizzled out near me but is going like hell just 20 miles to my south. We had perfect conditions for snow, talk about a windup.

So angry. Anyway temp is dropping 2.3c, not like it actually matters.

I think that is some slushy snow on side of the road at Flash Staffordshire, looks like it fell last night.
