You have to think of it like a "ghost signal", maybe where the radar is being very sensitive or something close by such as wind turbines is causing slight interference. I get to see this seemingly perpetual light patchy precipitation off the south east of Kent on the radar.
Anyway, the rock is now on the wheelie bin (it's just been emptied this morning so it's light and empty) and am going to hit the sack and hopefully miss most of it by sleeping through it (my being deaf mean I'm totally impervious to sound once my aids are off, but the same cannot be said for my elderly mother). I'm not expecting the wind to kick in until after midnight so I'm not going to lose sleep by watching radars and hoping for that last minute downgrade as it won't make an iota of difference to the weather.
