For those hoping for a crayloa map, I think there is little point since the interesting bits are basically happening now. 

As expected, it is being quite hairy out there, I'm glad I don't have to do that motorbike commute through the countryside.

On mornings like this, being a home carer for an elderly mother does come into its own, and just as well as the old dear has the touch of the man flu. I slept like a log last night until mother woke me up at 5 am saying she's not feeling well. Awww.

Getting to be quite squally as the approaching squall line is knocking on my door - then hopefully that should be the worst of it once that passes over us.

In terms of rough weather, that has met my own expectations.

EDIT: Stupid rain gauge has decided to stop working so I have no idea how much rain has fallen in the past half hour alone, I would guess it must be 10 mm, I'm sure Steve Gusty may be able to enlighten me.

Just had a very wintry shower on Wirral - mixture of rain sleet and snow, though mainly soft hail. Hopefully a few more to come!

Ive just watched that move over the wirral from my office window in Liverpool (looks directly over the roof tops to the wirral  Due west.

It was more a hail / rain shower here.  Looking out to sea i can just see alot of smaller CN clouds - nothing as substantial as that last cloud. 

Doesn't surprise me as we had a sleet/snow shower in Stockport about half an hour ago.
