hey Doc, I really feel for the Scots NW folk- that coming storm looks a shocker.
batten down the hatches!
😜
27th January 2003 was a remarkable day. IIRC 17.2c was achieved on this particular day?
Many stations that day recorded >16c, even here on the SE coast I managed 14.1c.
4 days later White Friday occurred. .

11c. Supposed to be mild. Not feeling like that today in the breeze even with the sun out....
It seems like Exeter has made it to 16°C this afternoon. Not sure if there is anywhere higher? Pretty impressive for January.
Can't beat 16c, but we are still rising here. Gone from 8c at 15.30 to 13.5c at 17.30.
Temps here started of at 5.2c then rose to 6.7c by lunchtime. Now it's up at 12.6c, quite an impressive incline for the time of year.
Peaked at 14.2c at 19:45, 13.2c now.

15C reached here this evening. Literally feels like a Summer evening outside !
Maxed out at 14.5c today at 17:35. Lowering gradually to 11.7c.. SO STILL ON THE MILD SIDE.
15C in Stoke when I walked the dog this evening. Was balmy and quite refreshing in the wind. Could have shed the coat realistically. Last night was jumper and coat weather!

blowing a gale here, but unbelievably mild. It really could be July
After an incredible rise of temperature yesterday afternoon and evening for many, the warmth lingers on sufficiently for Gravesend to be forecast 14 c again today, this morning!

edit - 13.1 yesterday IMBY. That is the warmest January day here since 2007. Somewhat indicative of this winter's calibre thus far.
