This winter continues to sink further and further into the abyss. Yesterday was one of the few pleasant feeling days with a much lighter breeze but even that wouldn't drop out after sunset and the temperature just stuck at 0-1C all evening, briefly dipping to another stunning low of -0.2C at 10pm So despite all the clear skies this month remains on course to record less frost than last January's soggy horror show.
Today I wake up to find that the wind has switched to northerly but instead of bringing snow there has been rain and the temperature is 2.9C
Yet again it begs the question "What the hell is happening to our weather?"when even a northerly can't deliver snow in mid-January.
This decade has already brought us the worst summer, the worst pair of consecutive summers and the worst winter on record. Every day of this write-off winter that passes brings us closer to the worst pair of consecutive winters as well.
Snow showers were forecast for later but I won't hold my breath given the current temperature and yesterday being 2C warmer than forecast
