Temp. currently 1.5c at 9.45pm having risen from -0.7c at 6.30pm.  I note that it's very wet snow that's falling in Stockton on Tees. What's happening - is this a 'less cold' sector passing through??

Blizzard-like conditions here this afternoon with huge flakes, snow easily settling on all surfaces but now thawed on roads/pavements.

lots of non-snow/sleet/rain (no way of knowing which) here tonight.   Often under nearly clear skies!   Radar as reliable round here as a chocolate boat in a lava pool ....

A few flakes blowing in the wind probably with bits of rain and sleet mixed in due to a temp of 1.8c, can't see anything much happening here tonight.

nothing really here on the Wirral. a very light and whispy hail shower about an hour ago.... now just dry and the odd roar of the wind from time to time. bit disapointed the wind direction hasnt delivered anything notable.

Just had a thunderstorm here with hail, a flash of lightning thunder and gusty winds. I've seen far more than I was expecting this evening Joe.

Already melting a bit now, temp slowly climbing up to 1C, showers seem to be moving a bit more to the south of here now. Could be it here for a while tonight.

Currently +3C/-1C at Manchester Airport.

Disappointing considering it was +1C/0C earlier..

I'm hoping the temps will fall off later in the night or else there'll be tears in the morning (especially from Solar Cycle)

I'll be surprised if I wake up to see lying snow or even hail. The stuff that fell from the early evening showers stuck around for awhile but temperatures have edged up a little bit and now that has melted.

You're not a proper snow fan until you've shoved your head out of the bathroom window as far as I'm concerned. 😃 (no puns please)

If by 9am it's just a sleet fest then I'll admit defeat. As it happens, most model output seems to suggest tomorrow could be very snowy indeed.

Well we seem to be entering a "warm sector" again, had 4cm of full snow cover from that very heavy snow shower and that has almost gone already, I can now hear drip drip drip. Temp 1.2C, dew point rising too.

Hey ho there you go blizzard one minute then quite for an hour then sleet and rain the next. That is winter, better to come for us in the near future and by that I think all in one way or another

Snow continues to fall. Not as heavy as earlier today but a good covering now. Kirkstone pass and the a6 between Kendal and shap is shut. M6 was a nightmare earlier, just 1 lane open for a time.
