Traffic chaos round here this morning after 3 inches of snow and no gritting done. The usual 15 minute drive to the supermarkets took 50 minutes and even longer coming back.

Just been clipped by a shower that's passed just south of Wolverhampton.  Only lasted about 10 minutes or so but began to settle quickly.  Took about 90 seconds after it stopped to start sliding off the car windscreens.    It'll have delivered a covering, IMO, for The Black Country and Birmingham though.  An hour or so ago there's a shower that passed to the north through Telford, Cannock, Lichfield.  I wasn't joking - we really do just get caught in the middle!!

Frequent heavy snow showers in West Worcestershire - it settles for a time but quickly melts between showers. However, seems odd to get snow at all in a strong westerly. Looking across to Clee Hill, I can see it is covered with snow and the melt line appears to be only about 100 feet above our elevation.

All the snow showers are breaking up before they reach Cumbria now. Sun has been out for the last couple of hours and the snow is beginning to slide of all the rooves and all the slush is disappearing from the roads. Gutted!

Nothing here, lying anyway.  Snow is falling being whipped around by the wind.

Maybe the the strength of the wind is the issue here.

Just caught the back edge of a shower and to my surprise is was snow (and light too, so we must still be in fairly cold air).
