Good to see some of our long suffering Southern contingent weighing in with some, albeit fleeting, snow reports

Well, I'd be damned, it's actually snowing here at Folkestone. Fine stuff but settled straight away, leaving a sugar coating dusting on road surfaces.

Here in Lechlade-on-Thames, SE Gloucestershire, a prolonged heavy hail shower with back-edge snow has left a light white covering on grass, roofs and cars but roads and pavements clear.

My 22 month wait for both falling snow and settling snow has finally ended with a 10 minute heavy snow shower

Grass nicely seasoned and a nice coating on cars and roofs

Great snowy day here today - more please! got up to 1C earlier...the best it's got all day. Had a bit of a shock earlier when some snow slid off the roof and made a big thud

That low over NW Scotland is really intriguing! Clearly taking a different track to the trough originally forecast a day ago.

Could be another hearty dumping to add to the 13 inches we have currently.

Back home now - must be three inches of snow at least. Very wet in places.

Just seen a forecast on News 24 indicating the polar low or whatever it is might bring snow here again later, as well as Wales and the West Midlands.

Happy to belatedly report heavy Thundersnow in Reigate Surrey an hour ago. Left about 2cm of snow on every surface including roads and as a result has caused traffic chaos. Lots of minor dings right in rush hour! Melting now but that was fun.

A 15 minute heavy snow shower at 5pm dumped 1cm with ease at Stanford near Hythe. Here in Folkestone it is also a snowy picture with a light covering on all surfaces. Moderate snow at the moment again.

Well chuffed about this.

Had some falling snow here around 4pm. Didn't settle here but did 3 miles north around Melis and Yaxley and all the way up to Diss. Some of the cars were pretty covered heading south down the A140.

It is a polar low, and according to him it's heading for the Bristol area.
