Afraid, I did.  But highlighted the risk of snow over high ground.

Still, if I get that coastal rain thing wrong then I'll hold my hands up to it.

Covering of snow here from the squall line around 4pm (was it that, or a front of some sort?). Anyway it has left a covering of snow, only thin, but even so it has not melted and is now frozen solid, maybe more overnight? Feels bitterly cold out there.....😀

Loving the weather whatever it brings, snow, rain, wind, sun, heat, all great!

Polar lows Ian..warm sectors are very brief but are necessary in order to feed and sustain them. Potential is massive. It may start as rain but will soon transform into a winterwonderland.  Hopefully you are not going for a coastal rain event on this one ?

Hi Everyone, I'm Phil from Blackwood, Gwent approx 180m. New here, so hi to you all. I'm by no means an expert on weather and models etc, just love snow lol. So, what do we think is likelihood of this low giving the south wales valleys some snow tonight or will it rain ? I see a few people are saying raining, or will it be a case of rain turning to snow ?

Looking very good for inland (and not too far inland either) but I'm extremely unsure about here. After some brief hail that band was full on rain! I'm going to wait on the next one edging in, and then hit the hay. The first band moving into NW England is maintaining intensity reasonably well and also moving quite slowly. Could it be these bands grinding to a halt over the western Pennines and fizzling in situ that has produced some of the more impressive snowfall forecasts that have been doing the rounds this eve I wonder?

Can't decide whether this thing as a whole is moving SE or SSE?

Several CM in Stoke today, particulary on the grass, the deepest so far this winter. However it is claggy snow and was very drippy tonight. I preffered the fluffy snow of Boxing Day to this.

Nothing between Stafford and Birmingham, but a good covering in Quinton near the M5.

Well we have snow to the left of me, snow to the right of me and snow the front and rear of me, yet not a bloody flake anywhere near me and looking at the radar it's missing us by about 6 miles and moving to the SE of us.😱
