We had the bands run in last night with the PL.

Got nothing but rain. Woke up today to go to work, and becuase Chester got snow - our trains were delayed. so we had all the problems of snow - without the actual snow.

This cold spell has really been pants for us on the Wirral. damp and cold.

Light snow overnight near Melton Mowbray, now thankfully melting in the sunshine. Hopefully that's the end of it and back to milder weather by the end of next week.

Warning out for Tuesday. Fingers crossed.

The arctic airmass, by this time already firmly established across the UK, will continue to bring frequent and heavy snow showers
to eastern parts of the UK. During Tuesday, a subtle change in wind direction will allow showers
to spread further inland, with snow showers possibly falling quite widely across northern England (east of the Pennines),
along with the Midlands and parts of southeast England. The airmass is sufficiently cold for snow showers to accumulate at low-levels
and some locally heavy falls are possible.

Big upgrade to warnings for Saturday just out. Looking very promising...

Following a temporary less cold period on Friday and into Saturday morning, a very cold airmass will
spread southwards across Scotland and Northern Ireland accompanied by strong winds, spreading southwards
into northern England and north Wales later in the day. Frequent showers are
likely to form in this airmass, and with the cold air snow is likely to accumulate, even to low levels in places.
Periods of enhanced snowfall are possible within this general flow, perhaps more especially across the high ground
of Scotland and northeast England, but these details are more uncertain.

There is the potential for disruption throughout this period due to the accumulating snow and ice but also with temporary
blizzard conditions leading to very difficult driving conditions.

Tuesday sounds good for here too (finally!!)... but I'll believe it when I see it - loads can change in 5 days, especially when the heavy snow depends on the exact positioning of the flow.

Good evening London and the north, here are the results of the NE Kent jury .

First off, we give Ashford nil pwuns, nada here.

For the small hillocks between Ashford and Canterbury (those that are visible from the train anyway), we give 3 points (snow line appears to be from about 2 feet above field level)

For south east Thanet, we give nuffin mate

And for north east Thanet (Broadstairs/Margate), we give....10 points!

I woke up at around 5:30 to a complete covering, trees, grass, pavements, roads, uncle Tom Cobbly (he wasn't best pleased, but that's what you get for sleeping outside in a cardboard box I guess). I reckon we had between one and two inches.

Left Ramsgate on the train, and suddenly no sign of snow anywhere! Very very localised fall.

Still haven't seen a single snowflake fall though (it had stopped by the time I went out)

For the record, I'm only giving 10 points because compared to last year and this year to date, it feels like a 10....it's actually more like 3

It's not over, until the fat Scandy sinks.....

Location: St. Mary Cray, S.E. London border with Kent.

We were between Ramsgate and Minster, there was not a trace of snow! It's not as if I live at altitude either - St Peters is only about 40m asl.

This afternoon, there's been the odd visitor mention it's started snowing again here in Ashford, but everytime I check outside, it's more just very cold slight rain.

I'm just really chuffed we did well for once. We've missed out a lot recently, especially winter 2013/14 when Lancs and Merseyside got buried.
