Light, fine snow here with larger flakes mixed in.   Settling on all surfaces with temperature still comfortably sub-zero - seems to be some of earlier intensity so would be surprised if I ended up with anything more than 1cm at best.... we'll see though - the night is young!

Been nothing on the radar for here but there is a dusting of snow on the ground.

Snow started falling here in Arborfield a few minutes ago, large fluffy flakes and of course settling on everything as it is -2C outside.

I thought I was in with a chance of some snow tonight, really can't see where it's going to come from now though unless a slight change in direction.

I feel sorry for those back in Reading around which the heavier snow seems to have performed a sneaky split. If I was still over there I'd be cursing the skies.

As it is, I'm in my homeland, just south of Salisbury, and watching events south of Oxford with great interest. If WRF-NMM is right about it intensifying further... as the last few frames have shown it doing... it will be hard for me to keep my feet on the ground tomorrow.

Just started to snow here in Frome, fine flakes but at last I get to see a flake actually falling this winter.

Everything is white outside; at least 0.5cm, maybe approaching a centimetre based on looking out of the windows/door only. It appears to have stopped now, and most of the best stuff has headed to the west of Reading, typically. Maybe some more will develop later in the night?

It's been a long time since I last got to do this... extrapolating from radar images using a pen as a guide, finding that uncertainties due to changes in the size and shape of the heavier precipitation produce a range from just south to a little way north of me, pondering over whether it's worth tracking this all the way down.

My parents would think me crazy, and tell me to grow up, but down here it's such a rarity and has been such a long time that I say "what's the harm for one night of countless many?"

I'm sure many on here are like-minded, even in the face of daytime jobs, though there are very real limits.

Some light powder snow just starting to get underway here I think... hard to tell as there are few lampposts and they're all far away!
