And last nights pathetic attempt comes after nearly two days of constant precipitation on Sat/Sun which fell when the air was less cold.  I just completely give up with this winter, I really do !!!

-0.5C, dp -2  Light snow, occasional larger flakes. Just under 1cm if I had to measure it.

Technically second snow 'fall' in a week.

Awoke to a lovely dusting of snow this morn & it's still lightly snowing as I type, finally after 3years we got some snow!

3cm in Great Kingshill and also in High Wycombe so elevation not a factor this time. 3rd snowfall in 3 weeks and I hope this fall will stick for more than a few hours.

In all 3 snowfalls we have had a different type of snow  

IMO most of what falls from now until Friday will be wet rather than white unless you live up a hill. Rather similar to Sunday.

It's not settling well in the pavements and temps here are just marginal but still there's enough to make snowballs lol.

Yes Sunday mornings attempt was just dandruff lol. In wondering if that heavy blob just exiting london will make here before either dying off of turning to sleet.

Light, occasionally moderate snow continues. That blob in C Hampshire has my name on it so maybe another cm before petering out mid-morning.

There is some debate about the details now until Friday, but as last night proved, you should always expect the unexpected. A decent performance though for the E4 ppn model, with support from WRF, which although biased too far east last night, had got the 06Z snapshot pretty much spot on.

Edit - blob has arrived. Moderate to heavy snow now and 20p flakes. All surfaces now covered.

Dry as a bone here at Folkestone, the only whiteness is some frost - and I was lucky to get that what with there being a fair amount of cloud about.

A nice dusting here, wouldn't rule out a touch more this morning 

And further, if you're under a weather warning for snow that particularly mentions your county, and the forecasts frequently mention things like "especially/mainly/becoming restricted far SE". and you live in the far SEm expect bugger all! A slight dampness on the pavement, from either drizzle or seagull p*ss 

About 7cm of level snow here on the grass, not bad at all compared to the dusting I was expecting as of this point yesterday!

Question now is, how well will it be sustained today? Temperature is still a couple of degrees below zero but the forecast calls for a high of 4*C. No precipitation shown by BBC which may be a good thing given that the parameters turn away from snow for a time this afternoon... Euro4 does hint at some showers making it this far but keeps them as snow for the central belt.

Sunny spells may prove troublesome for areas away from the shade, but dew points could stay below zero all day which will help keep the thaw shallow.

I do wonder to what extent this band of snow cover could affect the 2m temperatures locally. After all, the wind is blowing almost in line with the snow band.

Woke to about 1cm (max) in Warminster and very excited. First proper snow since 2013 (couple of incredibly light dustings earlier this year not really counting). Now realising that not far away some lucky folk have 6cm! Dammit! Even that whinger Moomin must have done ok from this?

Nice looking couple of blobs in the souther North Sea heading directly towards me....now that temps and dew points are climbing - +1.8/+1.1

I've noticed this winter, that many of the resident whingers, naysayers, poopooers and so called 'realists' have had some nice episodes. Just proves to me, there is no god!
