I'd really encourage people to invest in
raintoday.co.uk
I'm constantly amazed at how accurate the precip type layer is, it must use some kind of method from the radar data itself rather than MO or observations.
Light snow cover in the Chilterns - mainly in the frost hollows but some over the top.
Felt really cold here today - mainly overcast and dry.
Hope to get at least an inch of snow over the next 36 hours - hope I am not disappointed
Also looks good for Brian's back yard
Hail and sleet shower went through a short while ago.
Still lying snow here, not much where the sun got to work though.
Aha, there we go, the trusty fax chart showing a convergence line clipping Kent tomorrow. Just have to hope that what'll come out of it is snow and not cold rain or sleet at all levels at this end. I've done a checklist of the parameters needed for snow production (850's, 950's, wind direction, dewpoint, precip, etc, etc, etc) and they've all been ticked off - except for air pressure which is expected to be on the rise by that time so any convection that does take place will have to be quite shallow but active in nature. It's really my last chance saloon at seeing a covering of the white stuff - if I can get to see that just for the one day then I can lay it to rest (as so to speak) and look forward to spring properly arriving.

Snowing here trying to settle. Not much on the radar but it's cold enough now

Not necessarily. There are some on here that are as interested in what's happening elsewhere as they are in their own regions. You could be ex-Glaswegian living in Truro
And when I said 'some' I'm not included. I couldn't care a monkey's unless it's within 30 miles of my shed roof
well it isn't , I could have made the very same comment .............surely???

Really? you could be anywhere to the SE of Glasgow and got it excited because it's moving down from the NW towards you in Wishaw for example lol :)
Moderate snow here now, settling on all surfaces.
