Not often I would say that on average we probably see falling snow every couple of years.
Lying snow is a different matter. The sea air usually melts things within a few hours unless the temp is well below zero. This happened on Tuesday evening good covering at 8pm (2-3cm) gone by 10pm
March 2013 we lying snow for one week in places and this was the first time for nearly 30 years.
Generally its quite warm here although in the summer we seem to avoid the hot stuff and in the Winter avoid the freezer. We seem to just go from Autumn to spring and miss out summer and winter.
