Apparently some of the horrible cold drizzle we have had on and off all day turned almost slightly sleety for a brief moment.   But I didn't actually see that, so it may have just been a customer's wishful thinking or deranged imagination ....

A brief burst of "wrong type of snow" here in Margate just a few mins ago. Left a covering on one or two ants

Actually, that tree does thrive well but pongs a bit with the pollen in the Spring. Those who owns the garden must have a poor sense of smell.

That wind has now changed, what precipitation that was to my NW is now moving away west of here, so all eyes NE/E

Not often I would say that on average we probably see falling snow every couple of years.

Lying snow is a different matter. The sea air usually melts things within a few hours unless the temp is well below zero. This happened on Tuesday evening good covering at 8pm (2-3cm) gone by 10pm

March 2013 we lying snow for one week in places and this was the first time for nearly 30 years.

Generally its quite warm here although in the summer we seem to avoid the hot stuff and in the Winter avoid the freezer. We seem to just go from Autumn to spring and miss out summer and winter.

I'll never learn but hey, that's how we roll. I guess I became so focused on this event somehow I convinced myself that it was going to be "the one".

Winter might not be over, but I'm fed up looking for it now  . I've thrown the towel of anticipation in. No more waiting for the next set of charts, no more watching the BBC 10:35(ish) forecast, no more looking at the radar, no more looking out the window "into wind" to see if another cloud is in the distance....
