Sorry for the delay. Here are the charts for June. Hopefully I can get the CET competition tables posted tomorrow evening.

Big difference between maximums and minimums this month. Although the CET overall was slightly below average (if you compare with 71-00)  or 0.5C below average (using the 81-10 mean), maximums were actually above average.

Most places were within 0.5C of the mean but Scotland and parts of Northern Ireland were somewhat cooler.

Unusually the highest temperature of the whole month came at 0859z on the 1st of July during the heatwave (temperatures being measured from 09z to 09z as standard). Heathrow reached 32.5C at 0859z on the 1st of July which counts as the maximum for 30 June. So we may have the unusual situation that the warmest temperature for both June and July could have been recorded within about 7 hours of each other as Heathrow maxed out at 36.7C in the afternoon of 1 July.

Congratulations to markwells whose prediction of 13.95C was only 0.03C out.

Gavin P was also very close with 13.90C but he has to take a large penalty for the CET competition due to a late prediction.

2015 CET competition - June update

Here are the tables for June. For the six month in a row we have a new leader as the top two swap places. Congratulations to Hungry Tiger who is now at the top of the table.

Some big movers in the table this month with a number of people in the top 20 moving up by more than 10 places including Hippydave, domma, Deep Powder, kendalian and The Professional.

Plenty of big fallers too including Norseman falling 19 places from 6th last month.

That's brilliant. I thought I was going to take a hit :-O I wonder how long I can keep this position. :-)

All good fun though - thanks for all the time and effort that goes into all this :-)

Anyway, although the top few are stringing out a little, there's just 1c separating 7th to 27th. Given last month's result, that's easily do-able.

Cheers, for all your hard work, GW

If it hadn't been for my terrible January prediction, I might have been top by now!

I was in 61st place out of 64 after the first month of the year, and of the three behind me, only moomin75 is still playing; JACKO4EVER and Martyn both throwing in the towel. I've been climbing the table since and I'm now nicely poised just outside the Top 10 in 11th place.

It just goes to show that it's not all over after one month (unless you make a really silly prediction!)
