That was a lively hour to say the least.
Flashes every second or less, rumbles every 5-10 seconds, crashes once or twice a minute and some real 'tearing' sounds to be enjoyed during the peak of the storm.
As I type the storm is showing me its rear end - I can see the flashes lighting up the towering clouds a brilliant orange, while the base remains cast in shadows. Very epic stuff and I wish I could get snapshots with my PENTAX but it suddenly went nuts and cut out. Still... got a lot of HD video footage to look through after sleep
The power's been on and off a bit lately. Backup routes doing their job I guess.
The rain was biblical for a time, easily over 100 mm, the kind that ricochets several meters off the rooftops.
Thankfully, no severe wind gusts or large hail to contend with.
