BBC Weather saying Keele, Staffs had most rain, 54mm recorded. I must admit, living close to Keele I can believe that; it didn't stop pouring all morning.
Road conditions were terrible and the water has washed away a gravel path near me on a hill and the smallish river that forms the Trent burst its banks. Day before I went down thinking it was unusually low, what a difference in 24 hours.
Was a good test for my new drainage channel in the garden too, which seemed to hold up pretty well. All in all an interesting event and one I enjoyed watching even without the thunder. I even embraced the soggy dogwalk because of the consistency of heavy rain (usually saved for a shower).
