Dippers 1-0 up at Stoke, meaning a mickey mouse club is giving itself an even better chance of winning a mickey mouse trophy.

On a serious point, I note that Klopp's training methods are now coming into question, given Coutinho suffering a hammy last night.

The question that should be asked is whether the Dippers have the right players to execute the so-called 'gegenpress' or whether the blame should be laid at Brenton's door and his methods.

Answers on a postcard please.

Don't forget, this Liverpool squad was totally inherited by Klopp, and he had no input into the pre-season.

There's no doubt that for years Liverpool's recruitment policy has been shambolic. By all accounts, there was a power struggle between Rodgers & the Transfer Committee. You could tell the TC signings, because Rodgers wouldn't play them. Apparently last summer Rodgers wanted Benteke; the TC wanted Firmino. Heels dug in. In the end the compromise was to sign both.

The result of all that is that £millions have been wasted (and we don't have deep pockets by modern-football standards) and we're left with an unbalanced squad.

I think if Klopp could have turned it around more than he has and we'd be challenging strongly (and wins against West Ham, Newcastle, West Brom, Palace in the past few weeks would have had us right up there), then I think Klopp would have looked to bring some key players in this Jan. As it is, only if one of our targets becomes very much available at the right price (or looks like being snapped up by a rival) will we make any signings, with Klopp wanting to see how the existing squad can develop/play.

We went through this a couple of seasons back with loads of injuries. And that was before Pochettino showed up.

'Saggy chops' had a philosophy of 'go out on to the pitch and run around' AVB? Well he was undermined by Levy ultimately- injuries or no injuries.

Enter Pochettino and what happens? Well we've had one long-term injury this season (Pritchard who did his ankle on England U21 duty). Other than that they've mostly been niggles (occasional hammy, knee) that you couldn't put down to Pochettino's training methods.

Given that Spurs do what Klopp would love to do, week in week out i.e. press the opposition to death - what is Pochettino doing that Klopp can't. It can't simply be luck.

I think it's a combination of luck, and Sperms players having longer with Pooch to get used to intensive pressing, whilst the Liverpool players are unused to the demands of such a game style.

We've got Exeter tonight & you'll struggle to recognise many names in the side. I'm made up Klopp is playing a reserves side - even if his hand is somewhat forced, given the injuries.

Keen to see what Teixera & Ilori play like especially... (probably underwhelmingly sh*t!!)

I see Liverpool have recalled Danny Ward from us. Klopp obviously not impressed with the other keepers on show. We were predicting this to happen after Friday night's game.

I think Ward would be a good understudy for a top class keeper at anfield. Neither Mignolet nor Bogdan are anything like top class.

Oh, and I see we've signed Caulker on loan for the rest of the season

The better news is that it's being reported that we've wrapped up a deal for (RCH) Joel Matip from Schalke for next season on a Bosman. Good player.

We desperately need a win tonight, but I don't see that happening.

Quite a ding-dong game at Anfield. 2-2 at half time with poor defending the reason why 'Pool are not ahead. A shame for them as they've scored two excellent goals.

I caught the first half and the Dippers started off well. Then I was reminded that it was like watching Keegan's Newcastle or Ardiles's Spurs i.e you have to ensure you score as many goals as possible because you know the back four on the field is shi.te.
