Wintry showers to the NE lit by the setting sun and gradually heading towards the Firth of Forth ready for a 2 day Dec 2010 style Forth Streamer.......well maybe not quite...its much milder than then! Disruptive snow forecast for some though, the Pentlands, Moorfoots, Lammemuirs will all cop it as will the Borders and NE England. This sort of set up gave Edinburgh 18" of level snow here in December 2010, deepest snow ever recorded at the Botanic Gardens...will never forget that!

Good luck with that we're still waiting for the disruptive snow due from 10am this morning.

Near-frost this morning gave way quickly to cloudy skies, then heavy cold rain with no sleet. The rest of the day has been a manky 5 degrees. 4.4C now .
