Grauple to heavy snow to sleet to heavy at snow to rain here all this morning. Looked lovely during the heavier bursts with huge flakes but everything so wet it never had a chance of settling.

The hills around town were briefly white above 200m ish.

so, that's the 4th snowfall of the winter I suppose!

I was japing at the Jivemeister, following his post yesterday. We're totally dry here, and predominantly sunny. It's a touch blowy, but not brass-monkeys. In contrast, I suspect Jive has either had snow in the last 12 hours, or been not too far away from places that have.

I actually got to see some snow this morning - 300ft up on the Berkshire Downs, at the wolf centre. There was light snow for 10 minutes but it soon fizzled into drizzle.

Ironically the only other snow I've seen this winter-half-of-year was in November, as I was going over the North Downs towards the wolf centre.

(We had a few flakes of sleet mixed in the rain in November back in Leysdown, but nothing since other than rain!)

Anybody near Portsmouth that wants some snow go to butser hill as its looking very white 😊😊

It would seem from the train that the ground between catherington Down, and the tunnel just before petersfield also saw a snow flurry at some point over night. But given its height butser has done well by the looks of it 😏

Combined with the SWW for snow I am watching that band of precipitation moving down form the north. Normal conditions apply, will it reach and if it does will it be snow? Possibly.

More winter in spring than there was in winter.

Snow shower has passed by and there was a frost. Some parts of the our region may wake up to a surprise this morning.

A dusting of snow here, crunchy underfoot with sub zero temperature (-1.7C). A beautiful morning with sunshine and snow showers moving across the distant hills and sea.

A dusting of snow on car and roof tops this morning, this has been the snowiest period of weather around these parts since December 2010. 😂😂😂

Moderate snow now but still not settling 😞 Had this arrived overnight then would probably be looking at around 1-2cm by now.

A 6pm soft hail shower today left a few white speckles on the decking much to the excitement of the kids. With another shower cloud looming to the NNW at the time and with the temperature falling quickly I was semi hopeful that the next one would provide a few snow flakes..it didn't..it rained.

Rubbish.

Tonight so far sums up the winter in fact the last 2! Seen snow falling on a few days but never layed more than slushy dusting. It has now started snowing but it is wet snow and only laying on car windscreens. Temp still 1.9c. Meant to get heavier at times but at moment I'm a disbeliever. My youngest is 2 and bit and she has never walked or played in snow, my son is 5 and has but can't remember it as it was 3 years ago. Can't we just have the grass covered please!

North Norfolk may do well tonight Elstevio...lots of showers heading your way, here up on the Yorks coast we've just had sleety showers, now they're all sliding past out to sea...

I hope so, really just for kids (and me despite fact I have to travel to south Norfolk early in the morning). Stopped wet snow now. Dew point currently 0c. Fingers all crossed.

Another pointless snow event like the rest in the last 3 years. Thin dusting first thing that soon melted as it was sunny nearly all day. Ground is white again due to a recent shower.

A soft hail / graupel and snow shower has been in progress for the last 15 minutes. Its trying its best to stick to the cars. Air 1.6c / Dew 0.2c.

A can imagine it is a more wintry scene over the higher ground locally.

Snow/soft hail showers during the night has left a slight covering.  The last snow shower was the first "proper" snow falling I have seen this winter.  Snowflakes sticking to the window and then sliding down!

Woke up to around a cm of snow this morning on the car and garden/paths. Drove to work to Norwich and looked about the same in most other places. Just had a brief heavy snow shower as well but didnt settle

Thats now four instances of settling snow this winter for me. Though two were very brief affairs with the snow turning slushy and melting very quickly. Overall better than the last two winters but not by much.

We had a slight covering measured at 2cm, still not enough for the kids to have any fun with. It is our first laying snow for 2 winters however albeit very little.
