A few of the daffodils are starting come into flower up here now and the snowdrops have died off in the past week.

A remarkably pleasant day for a Bank Holiday with a good percentage of sunshine and consequent warmth. Peacock butterflies feasting on hyacinths in the garden. Folks sitting outside the pub in the village this evening. What a shame it's all going to go pear-shaped tomorrow.

It went up to 14c. A beautiful day in Torquay.

 Great shot. Looks like Marseilles.

We managed a 14C yesterday too; all change this morning.

Can't say anything to accurately describe this month that would get through the swear filter

This vile Easter weekend ensure it ranks only behind 1996 on my personal list of horror show Marches. So awful it's beyond parody. 4 consecutive total write-off grey depressing Saturday's in a row less than 3 months after we had to endure 6. Just a total joke.

For two years we've had these terrible Saturdays but this is on a whole new level of hideousness when it's the same slate grey misery week in week out. Just can't do anything outside in this filth. Sick to death of being stuck indoors and feeling tired all the time. Totally incompatible with maintaining any quality of life

Today it's cold and overcast with drizzly rain - exactly the same with pressure of 990mb as it was at 1035mb only difference is a strong and totally repulsive SE wind

Yet another month that hits the misery jackpot of being thoroughly unpleasant as well as being totally devoid of anything remotely interesting. No air frosts since 8th March and only one minimum below 2C since then. Utter garbage and just a carbon copy of December - an unseasonable mild cloudy autumn month

Also local stations on maxed out at a 3.1 UV.

The sun simply isn't strong enough to burn yet unless your a ginger or blond. There is still to much ozone around but that is normal in spring, these levels are not as high in the autumn which is why the UV in September is higher 😉

Last day of the month. The sun is out. Not at all warm on the patio.  Breeze felt cold all afternoon.. Putting fence up...  For the chickens.

Still some good chances for some Easter skiing. This was Cairngorm yesterday although today was equally as good with blue skies and a fresh dusting of snow:

Glencoe and Nevis also have pretty good conditions.

Spring weather for the past few days; lots of sunshine, temps 12-14 and out of the wind the strong (factor 4) sunshine really had it. Last of the crocuses open wide and the plum leaves starting to uncurl above the first bluebells on our woodland bank.

Shirt off painting the shed and definite tanning started. Great way to end March.

Yesterday last day of March and a glorious springlike day. As it's half term we went on a day trip to Lyme Regis not far from us on the South Coast. Lyme certainly benefits from the influx of cash and looks far more affluent than three years ago. The car park charges at £2.00 per day are reasonable compared to Weymouth/Portland at the other end of Lyme Bay. Even someone swimming in the sea. Today after a frosty start it's clouding over and this weekend seems to be heading downhill weatherwise.

First day if April and it was colder than most days in December, that's what is so frustrating about our climate, we get cold Synoptics at the time of year when they are wasted!

Yesterday heavy showers at 3c gave a slushy covering of snow on the car windscreen, had that event occurred in February it would have been a lovely snowy morning but no we had to wait till mid spring when such a set up is no bloody good at all!

No doubt summer will be full of Northern blocking before the Azores High returns in November.

And I wonder why I drink so much

Seems impossible since 2014 to get a weekend where one day isn't a complete write-off  Yesterday was fine but today is utterly horrific.

Cold, grey and wet. Stinking awful weather. The worse possible synoptics. Even an arctic sourced northerly would probably give higher temperatures than the current dire 5.6C. Conditions would certainly be nowhere near as vile as this.

Revolting spring so far. Had to look up the records to check the last time when both March and April were hideous, as is seeming likely this year. It was 1998. Oddly couldn't remember anything about March 1998 but the year as a whole certainly is up there with my most detested ever - write-off El Nino winter followed by awful spring and horrific summer. 2016 is so far a repeat performance

Shrubs, hedges and trees across the board are now starting to show real signs of budding, as if yesterday's bright and mild weather then the thundery stuff gave that "all clear" signal.

The little amount of rain yesterday along with today's amount has ended a TWO day run of dry weather. Will do my growings good. Also give the chooks a wash.

Not much in bud up here...daffodils just out! Only 8 C today with rain and fog all day. Looks like another week of single maxes here as the wind stays in the east or northeast. Spring on hold here.

I see Toronto had a 12cm snowfall this week following a very mild winter with little snow. What do we get after suffering a very mild winter with no snow? More of the same crap

Absolute horror show of an April that, with just 5 days gone, is already looking like a contender for the all time worst.
It is just revolting - a repeat of the catastrophe of January with day in day out of slate grey skies and almost contstant light/rain drizzle. Disgusting minima of 5C and maxima of 7C.

There is just nothing remotely acceptable in the output. Just a continuation of this garbage befitting of only places unfit for human habitation. Already had half the monthly average rainfall with not a single dry day - rain every day for the next week as well. At this rate it will be challenging April 2012's record breaking 26 rain days

Can't even manage a frost - something cold and dull April's of the past like 1966, 1978, 1979 and 1983 managed no problem because then, bad months saw changeable conditions not permacast misery. It is just beyond a joke the unpleasant, unappetising pile of dross we are now served up constantly

Just seen some silver birch in leaf 😊 they don't normally leaf until mid spring at least. Also big flower buds now on some horse chestnut trees.

I sympathise with you Richard.....very cold and grey here too..so depressing, the NE flow looks like continuing for the foreseeable! At least the south gets sunny spells and showers in these set-ups, I would prefer that!
