And there's Monday's little bruiser giving gale/possible severe gale force winds over Southern and the South East parts on Bank Holiday Monday. Just glad I no longer have to be working in a tomato greenhouse over the holiday period, like I used to back in the days.

It stayed dry here until just before six, then a spectacular gust front came through with torrential rain and gusts over 50mph - severe swirling rain and spray  - quite a sight and if it hasn't reached you yet consider doing some video.

Some modest potential for tomorrow over much of the country, with CAPE widely at 400 to 600 j/kg. Central/eastern/NE England look most promising, but many areas could see some downpours with hail and thunder a possibility. Tuesday and Wednesday also hold potential currently.

Wouldn't be surprised to hear of a funnel cloud even a tornado with the combination of strong winds and heavy showers/storms tomorrow.

Torrential rain, hail, thunder. It's all happening here at the moment. Prelude to a very showery day I think.

To early to say about convective showers but yesterday's & this mornings winds have been something of a wet flop. Don't think a weather warning was necessary.. perhaps tomorrow will prove a little more blowy.

Looks like a line of cells has formed in NW England with a reasonable number of strikes being recorded.

Flash of lightning and big crack of thunder, then came the sound of pea size hail smashing down on roofs getting ever closer. Was all over in a minute though.

Some hail passing through with a couple of rumbles of thunder here, too. A nice double rainbow to finish it all off.

Very gusty in the showers today now have eased. No thunder locally and a few shards of hail falling earlier. Now mostly sunny and windy waiting for Kate to arrive.

Ten-minute hailstorm at Hampstead this morning ca 1100. Dramatic while it lasted, glad we got back to the car after Easter Sunday stroll on the Heath
