Amazing scenes!

Here in Grenoside there is a dusting on most surfaces, with snow still coming down in the wind - it looks magical out there with the sun peeking through

Estimate 8 to 10cm here (300m asl) at scapegoat hill near Huddersfield.

Looks like a squall line moving into Lancashire at the moment with an area of precip behind it which I assume to be snow - estimate that will hit here in next hour.

Think its game over now but I suppose it is 30 April.
Last batch of heavy snow didn't really add to cover. Stopped now and slow thaw .
Still pretty impressive one day from May and to have flights diverted or cancelled at the airport

This is the wintry scene that greeted me at 6am:

4cm snow, still a little slushy stuff left on the grass now. Much as I like snow I really hope this is the last I see of it until this autumn/winter.

A quite decent (but brief) snow shower with a couple of cracks of thunder just rattled through Southwark in London.

A light covering in Grenoside this morning, quickly melting through the day but with more snow at lunchtime, none of which settled. All very interesting and unusual for late April!

Strange to think there was full snow cover this morning now that it is clear with bright evening sunshine . Just a reminder left on the distant moors.

We still don't have leaves on the majority of trees so it really did look like a typical winter postcard scene this morning above ground level. Would like to see a significant snowfall with trees in full leaf.
26.5cm of snow this season. Not bad considering such a shocking start.

Time for summer now though!

It's been vile here today with periods of wet snow on and off - moors have often been quite white but it melts rapidly between showers.
I had to go over the moors and it was slushy wheel marks all the way around midday, with 2-3" at the highest point.
Maximum was 5.4C  minimum 0.6, and 2.6C now.
Is it really May in two days time?
Can't resist thinking what a pity the Tour de Yorkshire wasn't here today rather than Sunday

Same here.
A lousy year for snow.
The best was a couple of millimetres one morning.(couldn't even feel a crunch)

That's why I keep checking this place.

No falling or laying snow since April 2013.  And I see CO2 levels have broached 409ppm.
